I have had this problem for about 3 weeks. Like you i'd noticed that Firefox is in the Mixer whether or not it is playing Audio, but Edge and Chrome are only showing when Audio is active.

I know this is not the answer you wanted, but it's all we have But I just factory reset my PC, the volume mixer works perfectly now.
